From University Student to Graduate: Celebrating Elton's Achievement
For many young people in South Africa, the opportunity to attend university can be life-changing. However, the financial costs of higher education remain a significant barrier, particularly for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Through its education sponsorship programme, The Waterberg Trust (TWT) helps young people overcome these barriers, supporting them to pursue their studies and build brighter futures.
We are delighted to share the recent success of one of the students supported by TWT, Elton Chitanda, who has successfully completed his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at Eduvos.

Elton's graduation marks an important milestone, not only in his own journey but also for TWT and the supporters who have helped make his education possible. Through financial sponsorship during his university studies, TWT has been able to support Elton in pursuing his ambitions and developing the skills needed for a career in technology.
Following his graduation, Elton wrote to the Trust to share his exciting news and express his gratitude:
"I am proud to share that I have successfully completed my Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at Eduvos and recently celebrated my graduation. This achievement would not have been possible without the financial support and encouragement I received from the Waterberg Trust. I am truly grateful for the investment you made in my education."

Having completed his degree, Elton is now looking towards the next chapter of his life. He is actively seeking opportunities to begin his career in technology, while also exploring international employment and postgraduate study opportunities. Although challenges remain, he is determined to continue developing his skills and building his future.
Elton's achievement is a wonderful example of the lasting difference that investment in education can make. While much of TWT's work focuses on supporting children through their early years of schooling, helping young people continue their education beyond school is equally important. University sponsorship can open doors to qualifications, careers and opportunities that might otherwise remain out of reach.
In his message to the Trust, Elton added:
